These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services by Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale to consumers and business customers in the United Kingdom. By placing a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming any service.

1. Definitions and Interpretation

In these Terms and Conditions, the following words shall have the meanings set out below:

Customer means the individual or business who books or receives the services.

Services means carpet, rug, upholstery, and related cleaning or treatment services supplied by Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale, as agreed in the booking confirmation.

Premises means the property, address or location where the services are to be provided.

Technician means an employee, contractor or representative assigned by Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale to carry out the services.

Agreement means the contract between Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale and the customer for the provision of services in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

2. Scope of Services

Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale provides carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning, stain and spot treatments, end of tenancy cleaning of soft furnishings, and related services as described at the time of booking. The exact scope, including specific rooms, items and areas, will be confirmed in your booking confirmation.

The customer is responsible for ensuring the requested services are appropriate for the type of fabric and flooring present at the premises. While the technician will exercise reasonable skill and care, the customer must inform us of any known sensitivities, special coatings, previous damage, or manufacturer instructions relating to the items to be cleaned.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Bookings may be made by phone or online enquiry form where available. A booking is regarded as an offer by the customer to purchase services in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

3.2 The booking will be confirmed only when Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale issues a confirmation, which may be given verbally or in writing. At that point, an Agreement is formed between the customer and Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale.

3.3 The customer must provide accurate and complete information when making a booking, including full address of the premises, property access details, parking information, type and size of areas or items to be cleaned, and any special requirements.

3.4 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale reserves the right to refuse a booking or to cancel an existing booking where providing the services would be unsafe, impractical, or not commercially viable. In such circumstances, any pre-paid amounts for services not performed will be refunded.

3.5 The customer is responsible for ensuring adequate access to the premises on the agreed date and time. Where parking restrictions apply, the customer must arrange suitable parking or bear any parking costs or penalties incurred in order for the technician to attend.

4. Customer Obligations

4.1 The customer shall:

(a) ensure that the premises are accessible at the agreed time and that someone is present to grant access if required;

(b) remove small items, fragile objects, valuables and personal belongings from the areas to be cleaned prior to the technician's arrival;

(c) inform the technician of any defects, loose fittings, pre-existing stains or damage, and any particular risks at the premises including trip hazards, pets, or alarm systems;

(d) provide access to electricity and water where reasonably required for the services; and

(e) comply with any reasonable instructions given by the technician relating to the safety or effectiveness of the services.

4.2 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale will not be liable for delays, additional charges, or failure to complete services where these arise from the customer's failure to comply with the obligations set out above.

5. Pricing and Quotations

5.1 Prices are generally quoted based on the information supplied by the customer, such as property size, number of rooms, and condition of carpets or upholstery. Quotations are given in good faith but are subject to revision if the information provided by the customer is inaccurate or incomplete.

5.2 If on arrival the technician assesses that the work required is significantly different from that originally described, Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale will inform the customer, and a revised price may be offered. If the customer chooses not to proceed at the revised price, a call-out or cancellation charge may apply to cover the technician's time and travel.

5.3 All prices are expressed in pounds sterling and, where applicable, include any value added tax or similar sales tax unless otherwise stated.

6. Payments

6.1 Payment is due on completion of the services unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing in advance. For some bookings, a deposit may be required to secure the appointment.

6.2 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale accepts common payment methods such as cash, card or bank transfer, subject to availability and any applicable processing conditions. Details of accepted methods will be confirmed at the time of booking.

6.3 For business customers, payment terms will be agreed on a case by case basis. In the absence of specific terms, invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date.

6.4 If the customer fails to make any payment on the due date, Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale reserves the right to charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate permitted in the United Kingdom, and to recover any reasonable costs incurred in pursuing payment.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

7.1 The customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving notice to Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale. The following conditions will apply:

(a) If more than 48 hours' notice is given before the scheduled appointment time, no cancellation fee will generally be charged.

(b) If less than 48 hours' notice but more than 24 hours' notice is given, Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale may charge a partial cancellation fee to cover the technician's reserved time and scheduling costs.

(c) If 24 hours' notice or less is given, or if the technician is unable to gain access to the premises at the scheduled time for reasons within the customer's control, Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale may charge up to the full quoted service price.

7.2 Any deposit paid may be retained and applied toward the cancellation charge. Where the cancellation charge is less than the deposit, the balance may be refunded.

7.3 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale may need to cancel or reschedule an appointment due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, such as severe weather, illness, vehicle breakdown, or other operational issues. In such cases, the customer will be offered the next available appointment. Any pre-payments for services not performed will be refunded if an alternative appointment cannot be agreed.

8. Standards of Service and Limitations

8.1 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale will perform the services with reasonable skill and care, using suitable cleaning products and equipment for domestic and commercial carpet and upholstery cleaning in the United Kingdom.

8.2 While every effort is made to achieve the best possible cleaning results, the customer acknowledges that:

(a) some stains, odours or marks may be permanent and cannot be fully removed;

(b) traffic wear, sun fading, and fibre damage may limit the level of improvement achievable; and

(c) slight colour changes or shading may occur in some fabrics and materials following cleaning.

8.3 Any drying times quoted are estimates only, as they will depend on humidity, temperature, airflow and the nature of the material cleaned. The customer is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation and taking care when walking on damp surfaces.

9. Liability

9.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale's liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.

9.2 Subject to the above, Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale shall not be liable for:

(a) any loss of profits, loss of business, loss of revenue, or loss of anticipated savings;

(b) any indirect or consequential loss or damage; or

(c) any loss or damage that results from the customer's failure to comply with the obligations set out in these Terms and Conditions.

9.3 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale's total liability in respect of any claim arising out of or in connection with the services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall be limited to the total amount paid or payable by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

9.4 The customer must report any damage or complaint relating to the services to Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within 48 hours of completion of the services at the premises. Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale will investigate and, where appropriate, offer a remedy which may include re-cleaning, repair or a reasonable financial settlement.

10. Customer Property and Access

10.1 The customer is responsible for securing any valuables, cash, jewellery, and confidential documents before the technician attends. Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale will not be responsible for loss of such items unless caused directly by the proven negligence of its technician.

10.2 The customer must ensure that pets are safely contained or removed from the areas where the services are to be performed, and that any instructions regarding alarm systems, security locks and access are clearly provided.

11. Waste, Materials and Environmental Regulations

11.1 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale complies with applicable UK regulations relating to waste management and environmental protection in the delivery of cleaning services.

11.2 Any waste water, soiling or residue generated during the cleaning process will be managed in accordance with good industry practice. Where possible, waste water will be discharged safely via the customer's drainage system, in compliance with local water and environmental rules.

11.3 The customer shall not request or require the technician to dispose of waste in a manner that breaches UK waste regulations, including pouring contaminated liquid into surface water drains, gardens, or public areas.

11.4 Empty chemical containers and packaging used in the course of providing services will be handled by the technician in accordance with relevant guidance. Where the customer generates additional waste, such as moving or disposing of carpets or underlay, responsibility for proper disposal of that waste rests with the customer unless expressly agreed otherwise.

11.5 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale endeavours to use cleaning products that are suitable for typical domestic and commercial environments. Safety data sheets are available for products used and can be provided upon reasonable request.

12. Insurance

12.1 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale maintains appropriate insurance cover for public liability and, where applicable, employer's liability, in line with UK requirements for service providers operating in the cleaning sector.

12.2 Proof of insurance can be provided upon reasonable request by the customer.

13. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

13.1 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale aims to provide a high standard of service. If the customer is dissatisfied, they should contact us as soon as possible with details of the issue, including the date of service, the premises address, and a clear description of the concern.

13.2 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale will review the complaint and may request further information or evidence. Where appropriate, a technician may revisit the premises to inspect the work and, if reasonable, undertake remedial cleaning.

13.3 If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, the parties may consider mediation or other forms of alternative dispute resolution. This clause does not affect the customer's legal rights to seek remedies through the courts.

14. Force Majeure

14.1 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure results from events, circumstances or causes beyond its reasonable control. This may include, without limitation, extreme weather, power outages, public transport disruption, strikes, epidemics, or acts of government.

14.2 In such circumstances, Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale will notify the customer as soon as reasonably practicable and will use reasonable endeavours to rearrange the services at a mutually convenient time.

15. Data Protection and Privacy

15.1 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale collects and processes personal data from customers only to the extent necessary to manage bookings, provide services, process payments, and handle queries or complaints.

15.2 Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. Customer details will not be sold to third parties, but may be shared with trusted partners or subcontractors where required to deliver the services.

16. Amendments to these Terms

16.1 Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in the law, industry standards, or its operational practices.

16.2 The version of the Terms and Conditions in force at the time of your booking will apply to the Agreement between you and Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale, unless a change is required by law or you expressly agree to a later version in writing.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

17.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any Agreement for services between the customer and Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

17.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.

18. General Provisions

18.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

18.2 No failure or delay by Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale in exercising any right or remedy provided under these Terms and Conditions or by law shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.

18.3 The customer may not assign or transfer any of their rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions without the prior written consent of Carpet Cleaners Maida Vale.

18.4 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to confer any rights on any third party under the Contracts Rights of Third Parties Act 1999, and no third party shall have any rights to enforce any term of this Agreement.
